Crankshaft and Camshaft Microfinishing Machines

 

Crankshafts and Camshafts are very critical components of an engine. Our CNC Microfinishers give it the finish and geometry required to perform through the life time of the engine it goes into.

 

Our range of sophisticated Crankshaft and Camshaft Lapping Machines includes the following features :

 • Accommodate crankshaft and camshafts of lengths from 400mm to 3000mm!!!

 • High Production Rates upto 50 parts per hour

 • Size Control System : Optional for precise diameter control

 • Upto 8 arms in one Arm Pack i.e. Simultaneous microfinishing of 4 Journals and 4 Pins at one    time!!!

 

3 Stations CNC Crank Microfinishing Machine

 

This is a fully automatic Crankshaft Lapping Machine. The 3 stations microfinish :
 • 5 Journal Diameters
 • 5 Pin Diameters
 • Thrust Faces
The surface finish values achieved are of the order of 0.15 um Ra and a Tp of 95% at 0.63um Depth
Using State of the Art Size Control Technology, the machine maintains geometrical tolerance on the diameters to within 2 microns.
Quick Setup Change Technology developed by our team reduced the setup change time for 4 hours to 25 minutes!!!
With a Cycle Time of Only 45 Seconds, it is a high volume manufacturing machine, operating in an automatic line with Gantry Loading/Unloading.

 

CNC Crank Microfinishing Machine

 

Component: 4 Cylinder Crankshaft of Passenger Car
Operation: Microfinishing of 5 journal, 4 pin and Flange Oil Seal diameters to Level II


Input Finish: 0.6-0.7 microns Ra
Output Finish: Below 0.2 microns Ra
Cycle Time: 150 sec per crankshaft (excluding load/unload time)

 

Note: Cycle time depends on number of Microfinishing arms and machine configuration.
     

 

CNC Camshaft Microfinishing Machine

 

 

  Component: Camshaft length 1000mm
  Operation: Microfinishing of 7 journals and 12 lobes
  Input Finish: Journals 0.5 micron Ra, 8-10 microns roundness
                         Lobes 0.5 micron Ra
  Output Finish: Below 0.2 microns Ra
                         Below 6 microns roundness

  Cycle Time: 180 sec per camshaft (excluding load/unload time)
